Choosing your Dream Gown

Choosing the perfect dress for your wedding is one of the most important things in planning your wedding day.

Here are some helpful hints to finding your dream dress.

- Set a budget inclusive of shoes, accessories and veil if you decide.

- Work out what time of the year your wedding will be in. This will influence the type of gown you choose and material it’s made from.

- Look through bridal magazines and think about what style you might be after. Just remember the dresses may look completely different on you than the model so be open to trying different styles as they may fit you better.

- Book an appointment at the store.

- Go to your scheduled appointments. Ask for the store assistant's opinion as to what style might suit you the best. They are professionals and know what styles fit what body shapes.

- Once you find a dress you like don’t purchase it until you are completely sure and have tried a range of dresses on. Take photographs of you in the dress to see how it looks in photographs and don’t rush into purchasing it. You can always ask the store assistant to write down the details of the dress.

- Just like you had the feeling about your fiancé being ‘the one’, you will also get that with the dress. Shop around until you find your dream dress you fall in love with.

Real Life Wedding : Pimme and Tony

A big congratulations to Tony and Pimme who were married at Riverside Brisbane on 27 August 2011.

Pimme looked stunning in one of our gorgeous gowns from Lovita Bridal Couture. She wore a strapless chiffon ballgown style gown with diamantes at the centre across the bodice and a gathered detailed skirt. She looked beautiful walking down the aisle with a bouquet by Dream Wedding Australia . Tony and his groomsman had matching buttonholes.

Guests came from all over to attend the ceremony. Interstate and from overseas, mainly from Pimme’s home country, Thailand.  Pimme’s sister was her bridesmaid.

It was a gorgeous day for a gorgeous couple. We wish you all the happiness in the world for your lives together.

Perfect Fit

Princess

Perfect if you're wanting the 'fairy-tale princess' look. This style suits most shapes and sizes.

A-line 

Fitted bodice and flows out in a triangular shape resembling the outline of an uppercase A. This styles gives a streamlined and slim look minimising hips and thighs. 

Fishtail/Mermaid 

Fishtail or mermaid style wedding gown has a fitted, sculptured bodice with widening skirt. The fishtail style is best of curvy figures with a small waist and bigger hips.

Ballgown

Ballgown is also a 'fairytale' style gown. They are characterised by a fitted bodice with a full skirt usually full of volume and character. Ballgown style is ideal for pear shaped figure or those with a large bust to create an hour glass shape.

Sheath

The sheath style is a simple style for an elegant wedding and is usually constructed of one piece of material. It is most flattering to a slender and lean body shape.

Bustle Back

Bustle back style is where there is a lot of detail. Traditionally it was to give the guests something to look at during the ceremony as the Bride would have her back to the guests most of the time. Usually a bow or large amount of fabric is placed at the bottom of the back as a feature to give the illustion of an hour glass figure.

Splashes of Red Fashion Show

Spring has sprung and to celebrate Westpac Bank put on a networking event for Westpac Customers showcasing the latest spring fashions by Lovita Bridal Couture and MargK in a fully-fledged fashion show. We had the opportunity to provide some of our gorgeous gowns and Dream Wedding Australia's flower arrangements brightened up the show.

The event, held on Wednesday 31^st August, was a great success with beautiful gowns by both designers. Our Spring selection is now in our showroom where you won’t have any trouble finding a gorgeous gown you’ll fall in love with straight away.

With a selection of over one hundred gowns to try we are sure to have the perfect style and fit for you. Whether it’s hourglass, A-line, sheath, empire waist, ball gown, mermaid or fishtail we have styles, colours and fabrics to suit all individual styles.

Grand Opening Party

Our grand opening for Lovita Bridal and Formal Couture and Dream Wedding Australia was a great success. The party was held at our store in Anzac Square Arcade in the heart of Brisbane City.

At our large wedding studio, beautiful gowns, bridesmaids and formal wear, stationary, flowers, cakes, and video were all displayed for our gorgeous brides-to-be to look at. 

All brides-to-be who attended our grand opening were entered in the draw to win their dream wedding gown from our collection of equisite gowns. Our winner was a young Irish lass who was very excited to have won the gorgeous gown. We also had a range of prizes that were drawn such as accessories, photography packages and discounts off a variety of products in the store.
